Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 May 2026 · Governing law: Republic of South Africa

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Recruitment Directory (the "Service") at therecruitmentdirectory.co.za. By accessing the Service, registering an agency listing, or sending an enquiry through the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

The Recruitment Directory is operated from South Africa. The current operator details, including registered company name and CIPC registration number, are listed in the footer of every page. For any contractual or legal correspondence, please use the contact channels on our Contact page.

2. What the Service does

The Service is a curated directory of recruiters operating in South Africa. We provide:

We are not ourselves a recruiter. We do not place candidates, manage hiring processes, or assume any responsibility for outcomes between agencies, employers, or candidates.

3. Agency obligations

If you register your recruiter on the Service, you confirm and undertake that:

4. Visitor obligations (employers, candidates, public)

If you use the Service to browse agencies, send enquiries, or contact us, you agree to:

5. Subscription, payment, and refunds

Pricing tiers ("Starter" at R0/month forever, "Professional" at R199/month, "Premium Featured" at R599/month) are described on the Get listed page. Plans are billed in South African Rand by EFT (bank transfer). The free Starter plan requires no payment and converts to a paid plan only with your explicit selection. Paid plans are activated only once we confirm receipt of your EFT payment, usually within one business day.

Refunds are available within 7 days of the first paid charge, prorated to the unused portion of the billing cycle. After 7 days, paid plans are non-refundable for the current cycle but may be cancelled to prevent further billing. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of past charges.

6. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate any agency profile that, in our sole reasonable judgment, breaches these Terms, misrepresents itself, fails verification, or generates a credible volume of complaints. Where possible we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue before suspension. Suspension or termination does not entitle the agency to a refund of any subscription fees already paid for the affected period unless required by law.

You may close your agency listing at any time by contacting us or using the in-dashboard close-account flow. Closure is final and the listing is removed from public view immediately; underlying personal data is handled per our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, layout, software, and the curation of agency listings, is the property of the operator. Agency-supplied content (logos, descriptions, contact details) remains the property of the supplying agency, but by submitting it you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Service and in marketing material promoting the Service.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". We do our best to verify each recruiter, but we do not warrant the suitability, professionalism, or success of any agency for any specific role or candidate. The Service is an introduction layer; the contractual relationship for any placement is exclusively between the agency and its client/candidate.

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, our aggregate liability to any party for any claim arising from use of the Service is capped at the amount that party (if any) paid us in subscription fees in the 6 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, or for loss of profit or business opportunity.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered agencies and by a banner on the home page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

10. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these Terms or use of the Service that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Johannesburg.
